New pack for men diagnosed with localised prostate cancer

Palin Communications worked with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) to coordinate the media launch of the Localised Prostate Cancer Pack at Parliament House Canberra on 31 May 2011.

Palin Communications and PCFA hosted a media briefing at Parliament House Canberra the morning of the launch (for journalists/outlets unable to attend the evening event) and invited key media to the evening launch at Parliament House.

Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan at the briefing event

AAP attended the morning briefing while ABC, Channel 7, Channel 9 and AAP all attending the evening briefing. In addition Prostate Cancer survivor and Ex federal minister Jim Lloyd was interviewed by ABC 666 and PCFA CEO Anthony Lowe recorded several news grabs which were used across a number of stations.

Despite a competitive news day an AAP newswire story was picked up by more than 27 online news outlets and Channel 7 used the story in two news bulletins the following morning June 2.
