Benefits of Fish Oil high in EPA
Palin Communications recently co-ordinated a media relations project to help promote awareness of the benefits of fish oil in reducing ADHD symptoms. The campaign focused on two Swedish researchers who were in Australia presenting at healthcare conferences in Sydney and Adelaide.
Dr Sven Ostlund and Dr Gunnar Fransson visited Australia to present new data regarding the efficacy of fish oil (high in EPA) in reducing the symptoms of ADHD and other attention disorders.
The media relations plan was to implement two separate media programs:
- Sydney media plan – using the Royal Australian College of Physicians Physicians Week 2009 congress as a backdrop
- Adelaide media plan – using the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists 2009 Congress as a backdrop
The aim was to get media interested in the new data Dr Ostlund and Dr Fransson presented at the congresses and to educate doctors and consumers on the benefits of fish oil high in EPA.
The Swedish researchers appeared on Mornings with Kerri-Anne, on Channel 9 National Morning News and on Ch10 evening news in Adelaide. They also conducted numerous radio interviews and took calls from listeners on the suitability of fish oil high in EPA for learning problems.
