New funding approved plus Loud Shirt Day fundraising initiative wins award

The Shepherd Centre recently confirmed its new ongoing funding agreement with the NSW Department of Education.

The previous funding levels from July 2018 to December 2019 are set to be reinstated. In great news for families with hearing impaired children, the Department has now committed to ongoing per child funding until June 2021.

Katie Bartolillo Digital Marketing & Communications Coordinator from The Shepherd Centre said everyone was ecstatic about the development.

“This is a really fantastic result and is clearly related to our ongoing public advocacy and media relations efforts. We could not have achieved this without the support and hard work of the Palin Communications team,” said Katie.

In other great news for The Shepherd Centre, its 2018 Loud Shirt Day fundraising initiative has won first place in the ‘Fundraising Campaign’ category of PR Daily’s international Non-Profit PR Awards.

The campaign triggered a 5% increase in funds raised over the previous year. Media outreach produced 105 individual stories, a 36% increase over 2017, while 23 social media posts were promoted by politicians, media and influencers.

“The Shepherd Centre and Palin Communications set themselves apart from an outstanding field of applicants. Their work was exceptional and displayed their innovative strategies for achieving success,” said Brendan Gannon, Marketing Manager for Awards Programs at Ragan Communications.

The 2018 Loud Shirt Day campaign also received an Honourable Mention in ‘Awareness Campaign’ category for the PR Daily Non-Profit PR Awards.
