Heart Failure Claims Eight Aussies every day.

Heart failure is the number one cause of hospitalisation in people over aged 65 with over one million days spent every year at an estimated annual cost of $3.1 billion to the Australian health system.

Heart Failure Claims Eight Aussies every day.

However, aware of heart failure is at dangerously low levels, leaving Australians vulnerable to this long-term condition.

That’s why the Palin Communication team were engaged by hearts4heart to launch the first annual Heart Failure Awareness Week (27 June – 3 July).

Heart Failure Awareness Week aimed to:

1. raise awareness about heart failure prevalence,

2. educate people about heart failure symptoms, particularly among Australians 65 and older, caregivers and health professionals, and

3. provide information to assist in decision-making about patient care.

The campaign created an opportunity to encourage critical conversations about the importance of reform in how heart failure diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management are addressed in Australia.

Heart4hearts always appreciate people helping them spread the word. If you would like to get involved in Heart Failure Awareness Week, please email info@hearts4heart.org.au for more information and shareable social media assets.
