Two experienced health PR professionals from the Palin Communications team are set to test their wits and creativity in real time as they compete with the best in the business to nail a brief from the United Nations Foundation.
Palin Communications Account Directors Anastasiia Nazarenko and Tina Kandelaki are off to North Queensland after their response to a not-for-profit brief put them in the finals of the Cairns Hatchlings competition in Cairns this week.
As finalists, the pair will receive a new live brief from the United Nations Foundation on Tuesday 12 May and have just 24 hours to develop a strategic and creative proposal before presenting their response to a judging panel the next day at the Cairns Crocodiles conference.
According to Anastasiia Nazarenko, this is about proving creativity is not limited by specialisation. "The most exciting ideas often come from applying practical experience in new ways. Cairns Hatchlings is a brilliant opportunity to test that thinking on a brief with real-world impact. Working with Tina on this brief has been incredibly fulfilling because it combined strategic thinking, creativity and purpose. We know that our idea was shared with a real not-for-profit, Musicians Making a Difference (MMAD), and this gave our work a sense of responsibility and possibility beyond the competition itself. I am excited about the next chapter and where it will take us," added Ana.
Tina Kandelaki says “There is a quote that says everyone has ideas in the shower, but the people who make a difference are the ones who get out, dry off and actually do something about them. That really captures what excites us about Cairns Hatchlings. It’s an opportunity to turn creativity into action and develop ideas that could genuinely support organisations creating positive change.”
Palin Communications Managing Director Martin Palin says the progress of the Palin team demonstrates its creative capabilities.
“It shows that the health PR talent at Palin Communications can compete with anyone when it comes to strategic development and creative ideas. I’m really proud of Ana and Tina on this one. I can't wait to see how well they do.” said Palin.
The Cairns Hatchlings competition is part of Cairns Crocodiles, Asia-Pacific's leading creativity festival for advertising, marketing and media professionals. The competition brings together international talent from across the APAC region, challenging finalists to respond to a live brief, this year from the United Nations Foundation, and pitch their ideas to an industry judging panel within 24 hours.
