Hearts4heart’s Heart Valve Disease Awareness Week is an annual event the Palin Communications team loves to support.
This year was an opportunity to launch an Australian-first symptoms campaign focusing on the red-flag symptoms of heart valve disease and seek early medical-advice.
A simple and memorable tool developed by UK charity Heart Valve Voice, the SLOW Symptoms campaign introduced local and passionate advocates, MPs, clinicians and people with lived experience to help amplify the messages and share personal stories that drive change.
The team also helped develop social media assets and localise digital content to our Australian audience and the results exceeded our expectations: 75,000+ Google Ad and +124,000 Meta impressions, and our campaign spokespeople delivered more than 20 bespoke radio interviews which reached more than 13M people throughout the week.
Generous individuals sharing their stories of heart valve disease drove national media interest in New Idea, The Senior and Health Industry Hub, while another is now locally famous via a feature in his local paper The Hamilton Spectator.
